Yesterday in the library was extremely helpful and i'm glad we go to go and get taught how to access all of the different resources available to us because i'm sure it will be really helpful for our next essay and in other classes later on down the road. Its really awesome how we can get to all that stuff without even having to go to the library all we have to do is get on a computer. I'm not looking forward to this essay i don't know what to write about yet, and the in-class essay from Tuesday i found to be extremely difficult. I started writing and its like i had some sort of brain fart and nothing was making sense, i did research on the article i chose and still i had a lot of trouble writing that essay so i'm just really hoping i get a good grade on it. Summers coming up though it wont be to exciting because i will be loading myself down with more classes and i see we have our final at an awkward time from 3:30-5:30.. i wonder what we will be tested on, we haven't had any tests yet so i'm really curious to find out what will be on our final!

I thought going to the library helped A LOT today! There was so much information she was saying I don’t think I took it all in. I am kind of scared about out next paper due. i was trying to think of a topic that would be good, but I have not came up with anything yet. I did not know that you could look up all that information just online! That was crazy! Who would of thought online books! CRAZY!

On the other hand can yall really believe that our class is almost over? We have learned so much, now I have to worry about what classes to take over the summer! Yall have a GREAT weekend!!!

In-Class Essay

So I just finished the In-Class Essay and I have to say it was pretty challenging. I usually have no problems writing a paper, but today I felt like I wasn't prepared. I did prepare this weekend for the essay but I still felt insecure about it. I kept reading the guidelines paper to make sure I covered everything. I think I was just over thinking the entire essay. How did you girls feel about the essay?

YES the weekend..

This time change is driving me CRAZY! I can not go to sleep at a normal time, and waking up is such a DRAG! I feel like my body is not on right. Anyways. The reading this week was LONG! I did not like the "Politics in the English Language” I thought it was a long reading, trying to prove the same thing. Although on the other hand today’s class I learned a lot, took lots of notes. I hope these notes will help me for the in class essay we have on Tuesday. I am very nervous about this writing. What are you girls writing about? I have going to have to reread them I am still undecided about which one I want to write about. Well I hope it goes well cause I am stressing out about it.. Yall have a great weekend!! :)

I feel like these weeks are starting to go by slower and slower. I was not to interested in the "Politics in the English Language" article it was really boring and confusing to me. I don't get it and i couldn't stay focused when i was trying to read it at all. It always does make more sense though after Kate explains everything. I feel like this in class essay Tuesday may be a little more difficult then i though since we really have to analyze one of the papers and really look into and go into details with the meaningless words and the euphemisms then we have the whole rhetorical triangle with the ethos, pathos, and logos. I'm really not looking forward to Tuesdays class at all. The good thing is that it can be 500 words and we have just the class time to do it, beside the research that has to be done over the weekend so it should be a pretty quick essay rather then the others where i spent days trying to make it really good. But then the short amount of time could also be harder since we are pressured to get it done within the class period. I just want Tuesday to be gone and over with!

It's way to early!

Since the time change over the weekend it feels way to early to be in class. Talking about "Politics and the English Language" is not helping me stay awake either. Maybe when we get further into talking about the essay I will understand it more but right now it seems so boring and very hard to understand. I don't get George Orwell, his whole thing is say what you mean, but he takes so long to say it. That is very frustrating to me. I hope I see his point of the paper the further we get into our convorsation in class.

So this picture should look familiar, it looks like Thursdays class.(laugh out loud!) In class I didn't expect there to be so much talk about punctuation marks. I was surprised to learn something new. I kind of liked the lesson, it was a reminder of high school english class. The paperes, I'm sure, are expected to be tip top shape as far as punctuation goes.They will be great...right guys. My paper will be the best it can be. So our homewrok for spring break is great....to do nothing but to enjoy it! Kate did think about us on that note. Thanks Kate(koodoes) Every have a great break and be sure to enjoy it, and be safe.

Finally spring break has arrived, this week was going by so slow i thought spring break would never get here. Finally time to relax and hang out with friends for a week. I was really wanting to go to panama city beach for break, but weather shows it will be rainy and cold there the whole week so i don't wanna waste my money going there so now i'm going to be heading to Daytona Beach for the second half of the week. I'm ready to get a tan! And people post keep being about the in class essay and how it seems to be hard.. Did we go over what it was going to be like or something the day i was absent? i'm confused because i haven't heard really anything about the assignment yet. I'm hoping all this practice with commas, fragments, and run-ons help me with my next essays because i know i probably just throw commas around everywhere i tend to get a little "comma happy" which is really bad so hopefully these exercises help. I hope everyone has a great and SAFE spring break!

YES! Spring break!

Yes it is spring break time! Never thought I would be ready for this coming week, well I take that back I am ready, to think it will be a “break” from waking up early, driving the 45 minutes, and class being at 8… I am lacking on my sleep.. I think this “break” will be packed with work. Not only for this class, for some reason teachers should know spring break is a break FROM SCHOOL not time to give students a lot of homework just for the fun of giving it. Although I have been to class every time, I feel like I am behind. WAY BEHIND, even though I am not. I know I will be playing catch up this break.. Trying to get ready for the in class essay.. May I add I think that essay is going to get the best of me.. On the other hand, it has been really good to get to know you girls better. Thanks so much, I know we have helped each other, and will keep help through out this class. Yall have a GREAT spring break, I know I will me and my family are going to, Amelia Island. Almost Spring Break!

These past few weeks have been super hectic. I was thrilled to learn I had to have surgery (NOT), which only put me behind in my classes. As of this week I think I am pretty caught up with everything. I enjoyed the reading from the textbook "Female Fear Factor" I didnt realize how true that actually was. I bought an issue of COSMO and was reading a story that proved the female fear factor even more true. I am with Jeanita on the one about the vocab. I didnt think I would add ethos, pathos, and logos to my vocab either, but I guess thats what college is about, learning new things everyday. I am excited about the upcoming week and ready to get through my classes on Tuesday and Thursday, I hope I am Daytona Beach Bound next week for a few days. A break at the beach sure would be nice!
